About This Job

This position will lead a team supporting the Worker Compensation Program for the system. Ability to influence process enhancement as well as implementation of new technologies.  


Summary:
Manages and coordinates the administration of workers compensation claims.

 

Detailed responsibilities:
• Investigates work-related injuries and claims through direct contact with employees, supervisors and other witnesses.
• Directs injured employees to appropriate medical treatment and service providers. Monitors employee’s medical condition and treatment plan.
• Documents and records claims disposition. Prepares and submits required reports to regulatory agencies including the State.
• Directs and assists legal personnel as needed with the handling of claims investigations, settlement and litigation.
• Provides on demand reports on WC claims & injuries to finance, auditors, legal and State.
• Works in collaboration with the leave case specialist in running WC claims for missed work time concurrent with FMLA if applicable.
• Reports to third party administrator notices on incident report.
• Works with department leaders on light duty assignments, details, duration, limitations, and instructions when applicable.

• DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS: Builds positive and productive business relationships with individuals and groups.
• EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Communicates effectively with various audiences using the most appropriate method for the situation.
• MANAGING PEOPLE: Uses HR/Performance Management processes and systems to align individual performance to achieve organizational results.
• MANAGING BUDGETS: Prepares and administers departmental budgets and related expenditures.

Other information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to maintain professional communication with internal staff, employees and leaders at all times.

Required Work Experience: 5 years relevant work experience.

RN License preferred
