Cardiovascular Technology Scholarship

If you are pursuing a career in Cardiovascular Technology, Memorial Healthcare System’s scholarship program might be able to help. These scholarships were established to financially assist students seeking a degree in these areas.

Cardiovascular Technology: $8,000 for a 2-year work commitment

Cardiovascular Technology Program

Eligible candidates who have been formally accepted into a Cardiovascular Technology Program at a nationally accredited college or university.

How can scholarship funds be used?
Funds may be used for tuition, fees and required textbooks.

What’s next?
Once a completed Application Packet is received, the Scholarship Coordinator will verify your GPA and references and speak with instructors. You will then be notified if chosen to participate in a personal panel interview. Great emphasis is placed upon the interview with regards to selecting scholarship recipients.

How will I know if I’m selected?
Upon completion of the interview process, all awardees will be notified of the Scholarship Committee’s decision.

Application Requirements

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled and currently attending as a full-time student and be in your senior year of a Cardiovascular Technology program at an accredited Florida college or university.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from recent supervisor and instructors
  • One (1) copy of an official transcript
  • Copy of a resume

Application Deadlines

February 1, May 1 and October 1

Recipient Requirements

  • 3.0 GPA or higher must be maintained until graduation
  • Upon completion of degree, recipient is required to work at a Memorial Healthcare System facility
  • Employment obligation: 2-year work commitment
  • Job placement may be at any of the Memorial Healthcare System facilities
  • Work schedules are determined by hiring manager at the time of hire
  • Must have Florida state license required for practicing as a Cardiovascular Technologist prior to hire date

Clinical Laboratory Science

If you are pursuing a career in Clinical Laboratory Science, Memorial Healthcare System’s scholarship program might be able to help. These scholarships were established to financially assist students seeking a degree in these areas.

Clinical Laboratory Science: $8,000 for a 2-year work commitment

Clinical Laboratory Science Program

Eligible candidates who have been formally accepted into a NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Program for Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Histotechnologist or Histotechnician at a nationally accredited college or university in Florida.

Community Scholarships

Memorial Healthcare System’s Community Scholarships are offered in partnership with several area non-profit organizations. They allow individuals residing full-time within the South Broward Hospital District boundaries to attend college.

NOTE: You must reside within South Broward Hospital District boundaries to qualify for the Memorial Healthcare System Community Scholarship Program. Please apply directly with the organization.

Healthcare Major-$2,500

Non-Healthcare Major-$1,500

Women of Tomorrow

The Women of Tomorrow mission is to inspire, motivate and empower at-risk young women to live up to their full potential through a unique mentoring program with highly accomplished professional women and scholarship opportunities.

Broward Education Foundation

The Broward Education Foundation (BEF) serves as a catalyst for educational excellence by investing in the future of Broward’s students, teachers and schools by encouraging community support and utilizing community resources.

These one-time scholarships are awarded by the partner organizations on behalf of Memorial Healthcare System.

Nursing Scholarships

If you are pursuing a career in Nursing, Memorial Healthcare System’s scholarship program might be able to help. This Bachelor of Science in Nursing scholarship was established to financially assist students seeking a degree in this area.

$10,000 for a 2-year work commitment for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

$10,000 for a 3-year work commitment for the Associate of Science in Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Broward College

Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

Eligible candidates who have been formally accepted into a BSN Program at a nationally accredited Florida college or university with a NCLEX pass rate of 85% or higher and are in their senior year of a nursing program..

Associate of Science in Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

Eligible candidates who are in the senior year of the Broward College ASN Program and commit to continue in the Broward College BSN Program until completion of their BSN degree.

Patient Care Technician Program at Sheridan Technical College Scholarship

If you are pursuing a career in Patient Care Assisting, Memorial Healthcare System’s scholarship program might be able to help.

Patient Care Technician: $2,500 for a 2-year work commitment

Patient Care Technician Program at Sheridan Technical College (evening program)

Eligible candidates who have been formally accepted into the evening Patient Care Technician Program at Sheridan Technical College and successfully complete the program within the allocated 6 month period.

  • Non employees: Two (2) letters of recommendation from recent supervisor and instructors
  • Copy of a resume

May 1 and October 1

  • Successful completion of the PCT program
  • Upon completion of program, recipient is required to work at a Memorial Healthcare System facility
  • Employment obligation: 2-year work commitment
  • Job placement may be at any of the Memorial Healthcare System facilities
  •  Work schedules are determined by hiring manager at the time of hire

If you are pursuing a career in Respiratory Therapy, Memorial Healthcare System’s scholarship program might be able to help. This scholarship was established to financially assist those seeking a degree in this area.

Respiratory Therapy: $8,000 for a 2-year work commitment

Associate or Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy

Eligible candidates who have been formally accepted into an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy Program at a nationally accredited college or university and be eligible to sit for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) exam upon graduation.
